The following races are unique to the world of Haverith , each with their
own histories and customs.
Turassians
Of all
the races that inhabit Haverith, the Turassians are the oldest and most
feared. Standing an average of seven feet tall and weighing some five hundred
pounds, their large muscular, humanoid torsos are supported by four armored
spider like legs, each attached to a metallic joint at the base of the
torso. Their legs are heavily armored and are the most common weapon that
they use, which when combined with their massive strength can break through
the strongest of steel. Their torso's are human in appearance, similar
to centaurs, their faces clean shaven and their hair, which is usually
gold, green, or silver; is neatly trimmed and well groomed.
But don't
be fooled by their huge size, they are also highly intelligent. Naturally
capable of using magic, those that pursue the art become among the most
powerful magi on the planet, next only to humans and Thri'kin. Those that
study other casts, like Priesthood or warriorship, while not able to use
magic, have the ability to change shape at will. However, it takes years
of practice to master a single form, and most use the same one throughout
their life times.
Their
civilization is broken down into five casts: Workers, Magi, Priests, Scholars,
and Warriors. Each contribute their own way to the mass society, the Worker
cast farms and builds; Priests heal the sick and protect the whole; Magi
do what is needed; Scholars record history and teach the young; and the
Warrior cast is responsible for protecting their homeland.
They live on a large isolated island north of the Dranamoorn Empire and
just west of the cursed Scattered Lands. It consist mostly of harsh mountains
and even harsher forest land, which they use to train their famous warriors.
As for their part in the Conquest, they are the only people whom have not
yet been attacked by the Imperium. Maybe because it is rumored that single
Turassian Warrior, which stands over eight feet tall, alone can defeat
over three dozen of the best trained Zhanthran Elite.
However, their race is shunned by most other societies due to their appearance
and the fact that they survived the Purge with little set backs.
Thri'kin
A race of mighty wizards, the Thri'kin are a frail elf-like people with
immense arcane abilities. Legend has it that the Eternals created them
in their own image, a people of superior mental powers unrivaled among
all the other races in Haverith. On first appearance on would mistake them
for an elf or small human. Up close however, their is no mistake. Black
hollow eyes stare out emotionlessly from their stern face. Their high cheeks
bones make them look almost skeletal, complementing their thin pale lips.
They stand about as tall humans, weigh considerably less. Their skin ranges
from sea green to dark blue, and in rare occasions even a faded red. Their
usually long hair is the same color as their skin, lined by an occasional
silver streak.
Their unusual magical abilities, however, more than make up for their size.
Even the most mundane of their kind can harness the awesome arcane powers
of the Realms. They are also the only race, save a few humans, with the
ability to become Weavers, that is, magi whom can access the unlimited
power of the KnightFire. From small fireballs to storms of rocks, they
are the common back bone to the Eternal Circle forces as well as the defenders
of the Third Gate, the last known portal to the realm of the KnightFire.
The Thri'kin society is based on a well defined social ideal; pretty much
everyone does something for the good of the whole. As their race does not
use a monetary value, they each perform a certain task to benefit they
rest and in turn receive the comfort of others duties. This closely organized
life style has allowed the Thri'kin race to prosper over the years to become
one of the wealthiest nations in all of Haverith.
Their homeland Rymist, located in South East Nadra, is the only nation
in Nadra not yet occupied by the Zhanthran Imperium. Their massive magical
strength has fended off all hostile attempts as of yet, but with the increase
of Zhanthran Tech Knights they might not be able to hold off for much longer.
